New Job

Well, I finally got my first official job working as a research assistant in an economics research lab.  The job literally found me.  Most college students can't become a part of a research lab, but I was not only lucky enough to be a part of one, the job found me...AND it's paid!  I'm getting $10/hr, which isn't fantastic by any means, but I was going to do it for free!

Promise Ring

Today my lovely boyfriend gave me a promise ring. I went back to school this afternoon, so we went to breakfast earlier today where he gave it to me.  It's very simple--just my style!  I love him more than anything and I can't wait for the day we can actually get engaged and then married!

Top 12 of 2012!

Well, at first glance, it appears that 2012 has flown by, but when I really think about it, so much has happened.  Over the past 365 days I might not have worn makeup every day, but on those days that I did, I've found some truly amazing products.

In the spirit of 2012, I'm going to share with you my top 12 favorite products of the year.  Enjoy!

(Note:  They are not in any particular order)

1. Lorac POREfection finishing powder (used as foundation).
I wear PF2. This is an AMAZING powder foundation or setting powder!  I'd HIGHLY recommend it!

2. Revlon Just Kissable Balm Stain in "Crush"
I've had numerous people ask me if this was my natural lip color and tell me that I look like Snow White when I wear it.  It's good stuff, if you're into that pale, dark-lipped look.  I really dig it! (LEFTMOST)

3. NARS "Madly" Blush
If I don't know what to wear for the day, this is my go-to!  It is subtle, but just makes your face look better.  It may not look like much in the pan, but trust me, this is wonderful.  Don't be afraid if you're pale--it is not too dark, unless you are truly alabaster.

4. Maybelline Babylips in "Grape Vine"
This is my first EVER lip-product to use up.  It is a beautiful berry shade.  If you can get over a strong artificial grape scent, this will be a great product to try out for only $3-$4!

5. Benefit "Badgal" mascara
It's really not that fantastic of a mascara at any one thing-- it just makes the overall appearance of your lashes much more appealing.  Additionally, it is SUPER easy to get off, which I love.  I hate mascaras that make your eyelashes fall out in the process of removing them.  If you're in the market for a new mascara, then this would be a good option to keep in mind.

6. MAC Paint Pot in "Soft Ochre"
This is my trusty eyeshadow primer/lid perfector.  It covers veins and discolorations while prolonging the wear of shadows.  The yellow tones of this paint pot cancel out the natural redness of eyelids nicely to brighten up the area, as well.

7. MAC "Well Dressed" Blush
I tend to go blush-crazy and buy wild shades that are difficult to work with due to my pale complection.  This
blush is difficult (although possible, trust me) to overdo.  It's one that you truly don't have to think about.  It's nice to have some of these mindless products in your arsenal.  Additionally it gives a nice glow to the skin. (Slight shimmer in blush)

8. bareMinerals Mineral Veil
I use this to set my under-eye concealer, and that alone.

9. Revlon Colorstay Foundation
I wear shade 110-Ivory.  I'd say this foundation is a wee bit expensive for the drugstore, but it is a nice quality.  It has a paint-like scent, but it goes on well and lasts nicely.

10. MAC "All That Glitters" Eyeshadow
This is my perfect all-over-the-lid shade.  It complements my golden-brown eyes nicely.

11. MAC "Quarry" Eyeshadow
This eyeshadow is a godsend.  It is a wonderful crease shade.  It can pull so many looks together.  I'd say this is a must-try product if you don't already own it! (This shadow is 100% matte.  The glitter in it is from another shadow!)

12. MAC "Rubenesque" Paint Pot
This is a gorgeous peachy, pink shade.  It's sheer but wonderful.  On it's own or layered under another shadow, this is a must-have!

Let me know if you try out any of these products or if you have them!
Happy makeuping,
xoxo,
